What I endeavour for…
An avid reader- my love for the written word goes way back. I consider myself fortunate that my work gives me the opportunity to continue delving into this magical world.
As a parent, I understand the challenges young people face today, especially when certain subjects seem more challenging than others. I remember my own struggles, so I know how it feels to be in that place of frustration.
That’s why I aim to bring a lot of patience, warmth, and variety to my lessons without compromising on focus—particularly for those students who find English a little daunting.
Focused 11+ Preparation
My focus is on Key Stage 2 and 11+ English preparation, and I work with students in a way that meets their individual needs.
Some students work with me one-to-one, others in pairs at my residence in Pinner. I also run targeted online groups for 11+ and creative writing.
No matter what the setup, I aim to create a space where students feel they’re being heard, understood, and given the chance to learn in a way that suits them best.
What sets my tutoring apart is the attention to each student’s creative development. While mastering exam techniques is vital, I believe nurturing a student’s creativity is equally important. My lessons encourage imaginative thinking and expressive writing, helping students not only perform well in exams but also enjoy the process of learning and expressing themselves.
This balance of technical skill and creative growth equips them to face exams with confidence and originality.
A Calm Encouraging Approach
My role is to offer guidance and continue to encourage independent growth of each pupil. When students begin to enjoy English—or even just feel more comfortable with it—that’s when real progress happens. It is hugely rewarding when a student who once found English daunting gradually moves towards meaningful engagement and just “gets it.”
I remember so many of my pupils who struggled at first, but through their determination and the sessions( our teamwork) gained confidence and passed their 11+ with flying colours.
You can browse through testimonials and observe how what has been achieved is real growth, not just in grades but in confidence and enjoyment. If you feel I might be the right one to support your child’s journey, please feel free to reach out.

My daughter started her 11+ journey in Year 5 and we were worried that it was a little late. She kept the content engaging, ensuring that the learning was fun for the child alongside focusing on improving her weak areas.
